Day to discover the a amazing surrounding of the region starting in the morning from Bordeaux leading to Arcachon area. Famous old town on the “basin” with is neo-classic houses and the “Dune du Pilat” high of 110m. Take the steps and get to the top to have an amazing panorama of the area, the Pine Lande forest, Arcachon Bay and all the sand banc on the cost.
From there we will take a boat to cross the Bay and pass on the village of Cap ferret. Authentic village where it seems time as stop you will walk between its typical wooden houses to join a “Cabanon” to taste Oyster and white wine. Lunch in Cap ferret and some time for swimming according to the period.
In the afternoon we will back to Bordeaux by the road of “entre deux mers” and stop by the village of Margaux. Vineyards start to dominate the landscape and small areas of woodland conceal impressive wine chateau accessed by long tree lined driveways. You have entered the Chateau Margaux wine region, one of the most highly regarded in the world. The Bordeaux wines of Margaux, just like those from every wine region come in a variety of shapes, sizes, styles and prices. Generally speaking, the wines of Margaux are the epitome of elegance complicated by their unique floral characteristics.
Château Margaux, a 1er Cru Classé property, has been owned by the Mentzelopoulos family since 1978 – since then it has consistently produced the finest wines in the Médoc.
One of the grandest, most imposing buildings amongst the Médoc châteaux, Ch. Margaux in its current form was built in the early 19thcentury, although viticulture had been practised on the estate for several centuries before.
