Description

Let’s go for a day of discovery. To explore an area in London, out of the ordinary and to trace its history. You will discover a London as you have never imagined with a guide combining history, Architecture, anecdote and movie reference.

The city of Dickens with all these mysteries, the first currency exchange offices and the ‘trade’ which took place in the pubs, passing through the different monuments that have marked this neighbourhood like the Gherkin ‘the gherkin’, the Bank of England that dominates the landscape or even `Bank` tube station.

The City is the historic heart of London. 2000 years ago, this area was already an active place of trade, when it was part of the Roman Empire. Many irregular streets still follow the trace of the old Roman roads.

You will also discover what Caesar and his legions who are originally from this neighbourhood where there are still many remains, including the ruins of the wall that protected the Roman troops in front of the Tower of London.

We will tell you about the tragic episode of the great July 1665 plague which began in the neighbourhood of the city and the East End then the most populous neighbourhoods.

Our journey in the historical streets of London will continue with the period of Nazi bombing, we will also visit a cemetery namely Bunhill where great English of the period are resting.

Today, the City is essentially a business district dominated by tall buildings and skyscrapers that host the offices of the financial industry.

However, it contains a large number of monuments that were built at the time when the City was still a highly populated area.

The majestic Cathedral St. Paul overlooks this neighborhood, but there are other civil structures remarkable such as the Guildhall, Leadenhall market, or the Museum of London, located in the old London, which traces the tumultuous city history.

A full day to know all the history of neighborhood that ends by a passage in a pub which also steeped in history.
