This exceptional tour leads you in a highly symbolic place for our beautiful country. It was the domain of the Sun King, and constitutes the most beautiful artistic realization of the XVIIth century.
The Sun King wanted a palace in its measure. He calls on to the best artists of his time to glorify his power. Louis Le Vau and Jules Hardouin-Mansart, the architects, create a luxurious domain; Charles Le Brun imagines the painted decoration and André le Notre dreams about the most beautiful gardens for king.
Our visit will take you in the Hall of Mirrors. We shall comment in detail on its luxurious decorations and the story of its famous mirrors. Intended to dazzle the visitors of the absolute monarch, it is the work of the architect Hardouin Mansart. The rich paintings are of Charles le Brun. This gallery served as passage to reach the apartments of the king and the queen.
