Paris has always been in the heart of the history of the cinema. Come and dream with us along the cinema tours in the steps of your favourite actors on the Parisian cobblestones. There, the story of this spectacular city blends with that of the most popular form of art.

Dive into the marvellous history of cinema, strolling around Paris. Discover with her unique destinies, anecdotes, fights, some fluffy, some more serious. Share the cinema enthusiasm and find out why Paris attracts all the cameras.

In this tour, you will discover the mythical figures of the early stage of cinema in France : Méliès, Gaumont, Linder, the Lumière Brothers and! the city of Light.

What made Paris the birthplace of cinema? Inventors, directors, actors, businessmen all gathered their forces to create the magic ofcinema. This magic is still alive and today directors keep on paying tribute to this long story through popular movies as Hugo Cabret, The Intouchables or La Grand Vadrouille.

Your tour will start from Boulevard des Capucines next to l’Opéra Garnier , the first presentation of the invention of the cinema took place by the brothers Lumière in 1895.

We will then explore the théâtres, their history linked to the cinema.: Edouard VII, Athénée.

On the Opéra Square,: Le Fantôme de l’Opéra, La Grande Vadrouille, Marie-Antoinette, Sherlock Holmes. Georges Méliès, grand illusionist discover by chance the first special effects and invent the fiction.
Le boulevard des Italiens and the cinema venues : le Gaumont Opéra et others.
L’Opéra comique : place of shooting of the movie Intouchables. Le Passage des Panoramas. From  passage Jouffroy to rue du Faubourg Montmartre.
In front of le Max Linder : tribute to the venue and the star who inspired Charlie
Chaplin. And finally, Le Grand Rex : the largest cinema venue in Europe.
