Description

A day-long excursion to one of the world’s most famous vineyard regions listed as a UNESCO world heritage site. You will sight see all along St Emilion vineyards with two stop for wine tasting and visit of the medieval village of Saint-Emilion and its underground monuments.

Day will start by the visit of chateau “Beau séjour Bécot”

Beau-Séjour Bécot, an llustrious St. Emilion property was stripped of its 1er Grand Cru Classé status in 1985 and was relegated to the category of St.Emilion Grand Cru due to Michel Bécot’s incorporation of a couple of non 1er grand cru vineyards. The decision was reversed in 1996 and Beau-Séjour Bécot is now one of the leading 1er Grand Cru Classé ‘B’ properties.
Beau-Séjour Bécot’s 20 hectares of vineyards are superbly sited on a limestone plateau in the north-west part of the appellation. The wine is a blend of 70% Merlot, 24% Cabernet Franc and 6% Cabernet Sauvignon – the grapes are fermented in temperature-controlled, stainless steel vats, and the wine is matured in oak barriques (50-70% new) for 18-20 months.

Let’s go directly to Chateau haute Sarpe located on the hillside just east of the medieval city towards Saint-Christophe des Bardes.

The Joseph Janoueix family is one of the oldest wine houses in the Libourne area, and they are as well-known as producers as they are merchants. Set in the hillside on the edge of the chalky plateau, this is one of the oldest and most reputable vineyards in Saint-Émilion, with 21 hectares of vines..The grape varieties are 70% merlot, selected for its fullness and 30% cabernet franc, for its elegance.
Lunch at the Chateau.
Afternoon visit of Saint Emilion village and return on Bordeaux for the end of the afternoon
