Saturday Departures Itinerary
Day 1 – A Spectacular Route North… Our route to Skye takes you past beautiful Stirling Castle, across the brooding expanse of Rannoch Moor and through Glen Coe.
Photo stop at Eilean Donan… As our road nears the coast, it passes Eilean Donan Castle*. Here you have the chance to take photographs and explore the castle that featured in the film Highlander. Then it’s time to cross the bridge to Skye. Overnight: Skye
Day 2 – A great day on Skye… You have ample time to explore the Misty Isle, and spend the day seeing spectacular sights such as the craggy Cuillin Mountains, Portree and outstanding beautiful Trotternish Peninsula.
What Skye memories will you bring back? Maybe you’ll spy an inquisitive seal peaking out of the waves as you walk the coast, or a stag silhouetted on a hillside. In the evening you’ll say goodbye to the Isle and head south to Loch Ness. Overnight: Loch Ness
Day 3 – After a good nights’ sleep near the shores of Loch Ness you’ll have loads of time to explore. Why not take a boat tour* over to Urquhart Castle or just monster hunt from the shore?
As we head home, you’ll visit the battlefield of Culloden*, the site of the defeat of the Jacobite forces. Enjoy a wee dram at a local distillery*. You’ll also pass the stunning Cairngorm Mountains and explore a picturesque Highland town.
Monday, Wednesday & Friday departures Itinerary
Day 1 – A Spectacular Route North… Our route takes you past beautiful Stirling Castle. We’ll stop in a picturesque Highland town, where you can relax over a cup of coffee or explore at your leisure. We continue further north through the Cairngorm National Park towards Culloden battlefield. Here you have the chance to explore the Culloden visitor centre* and learn more about the final confrontation of the 1745 Jacobite Rising.
From a Jacobite boat cruise* you’ll get fantastic views of Urquhart Castle and you may even spot Nessie! Or, if you prefer, you can monster spot from the shore. Overnight: Loch Ness
Day 2 – Eilean Donan: Scotland’s most photographed castle… As our road nears the coast, it passes Eilean Donan Castle*. Here you have the chance to take photographs and explore the castle that featured in the film Highlander.
We’ll cross the bridge to Skye and meander our way through the spectacular sights of the Misty Isle, such as the craggy Cuillin Mountains, Portree and outstandingly beautiful Trotternish Peninsula. Maybe you’ll spy an inquisitive seal peaking out of the waves as you walk the coast, or a stag silhouetted on a hillside. Overnight: Skye
Day 3 – Enjoy a wee dram at a local distillery* or explore Fort William, outdoors capital of Scotland, and take in the views of Ben Nevis, the UK’s tallest mountain.
Cross the brooding expanse of Rannoch Moor and through Glen Coe… Learn the brutal story of the MacDonald Clan massacre and take in the weeping waterfalls that inhabit this incredible glen before returning home.
