This exceptional tour leads you in a highly symbolic place for our beautiful country. It was the domain of the Sun King, and constitutes the most beautiful artistic realization of the XVIIth century.

The Sun King wanted a palace in its measure. He calls on to the best artists of his time to glorify his power. Louis Le Vau and Jules Hardouin-Mansart, the architects, create a luxurious domain; Charles Le Brun imagines the painted decoration and André le Notre dreams about the most beautiful gardens for king.

Our visit will take you in the Hall of Mirrors. We shall comment in detail on its luxurious decorations and the story of its famous mirrors. Intended to dazzle the visitors of the absolute monarch, it is the work of the architect Hardouin Mansart. The rich paintings are of Charles le Brun. This gallery served as passage to reach the apartments of the king and the queen. People said in that time : ” the gallery is a brilliant blow of Mansart, the passers-by are begun to be reflected while the image of flowerbeds and garden multiplies around them, one thousand times returned by these walls of mirror of exceptional size “. Witness of numerous historic events, we shall tell you the signature of the treaty of Versailles, ending the World War I. Today, this gallery continues to be the frame of big receptions for foreign personalities such as John Kennedy, the Shah of Iran or the representatives of G7.

We shall reach then the chamber of the king, or got involved closely private life and public life of kings of France. Big musical parties were organized there, and still translated there, the royal magnificence.

Having crossed the park we shall arrive to the Small Trianon. The house of queen Marie-Antoinette imagined by the architect Jacques-angel Gabriel take up with the Greek style with its square plan. We shall so discover the intimacy of the last queen of France, wife of Louis XVI. This one liked finding the pleasures of a simple life, with her friends, far from the splendors of the castle there, so escaping the constraints of the protocol. Recently, the Small Trianon was restored and gives us the opportunity to admire its lifestyle and its refinement.
