In the early years of television, as part of its attempts to self-legitimise in the face of a disgruntled Hollywood, there was a reliance on one-off 'filmed plays'. The fifty minute show is a mostly dated dry affair. I am something of a Peter Lorre fan from his horror movie work, so it was a nice bonus to see him in this movie. They meet in Bond's room, and knowing about Le Chiffre's bug they turn up the music and kiss, before acting their parts for the villain. Remastered Picture and Audio. Barry Nelson as the first Bond and the whole cast do a wonderful job! This version of the original Bond is very clear and very nice. Casino Royale zien? But Peter Lorre as the first Bond screen villain? Since Casino Royale he has appeared in "Airport" (1970) and "The Shining" (1980).
